A Unique Event in New York Life:
A Performance of Mozart’s Classic Opera by Young Talent
Mozart’s famous “Marriage of Figaro” opera will be performed by a unique group of brilliant artists this fall; Children ages 12-17. This collaboration of tiny talents known as ”The Lucky Ten”, have performed in Carnegie Hall, at Vladimir Spivakov’s world renowned “Moscow Meets Friends” festival and has taken first place prizes in various international as well as national competitions including The Golden Voices of America.
Trained by Boston Lyric Opera’s Alexander Prokhorov and award winning choreographer, Anna Kravets, this young group carries a spectra of voices that have astonished audiences across the nation. Singing the Italian Figaro classic, Lucky Ten will be accompanied by a professional symphony orchestra conducted by Lidiya Yankovskaya. All recitatives (piece of dialogue set to music) have been translated into English for the audience’s enjoyment. “Lucky Ten”, inspired by Australia’s world famous “Ten Tenors”, is a children’s vocal and dance group with members hailing from Boston and surrounding communities. This unprecedented ensemble delivers classic arias, Broadway favorites, folk songs and modern/contemporary pieces in 6 languages, which include English, Russian, Hebrew, Italian, Spanish and Yiddish. Known for their ability to discover and evolve vocal and dance talents within others, Anna Kravets and Alexander Prokhorov have successfully coached hundreds of students.
